Being on the prospect is about more than just music and dance. Style and fashion rank attractive high on the list as well. Some take it as far as getting clothes specially made (custom made) for the sets. Head to toe, dancers get “clean” to go out for a night on the scene. But let’s start with the toe….
Shoes!! Favorite piece of the whole ensemble. For me, the whole outline starts with the shoes. I choose the pair I want to rock first then build the rest of my outfit on top. Comfort is given the most consideration… I want to be able to dance all night so I need the shoes that will accommodate my needs. But we want to be cute too so balance need be sought. Shoes that hold on to your feet is best for dancing… slides and mules are doable but they need an additional skill set. I prefer a stacked heel or a wedge over a stiletto but others would disagree.

...…………………………………………………………………….
There are a few factors that hold true across the board as far as soothe and balance…
- Rubber soles, lots of tread entail really good use of your legs for things to run smoothly, so if you are a lazy entertainer leave these kicks in the closet.
………
- Thongs are a bit of a pain…factually. With a heel forcing all that weight and pressure forward, the bit of material in between your toes is a frightening waiting to happen…
………
- Heels that shoot straight down the back of the shoe give more stability and balance than those that go in a half inch or so and then down.
……….
- Shoes that curl up at the toe instead of laying flat make connecting with the floor rather difficult. Rolling through the ball of your foot is almost impossible.
……..
- Leather shoes are going to provide the most comfort as the night progresses. Leather moves with you, man made varieties… not so much…
…
- Purchasing a half a size bigger in your boots and booties allow you to wear socks with them so that when your feet unavoidably swell and begin to hurt, you can remove the socks and gain back that wiggle room.
////
Ultimately though, your shoe selection will always be a reflection of your own personal style and individuality. Bring it on!
