Manolo Blahnik himself told VOGUE.COM that the shoe is about to arrive in London once again – and his love for everyone’s favorite sex columnist is still as brawny. “I adore Ms. Parker,” Blahnik revealed. “The character she played has had such a role in my career – I cannot help but consider both of them as muses! I adore cinema generally and a large chunk of my collections is inspired by it. It could be a character, a sight, or just the spirit of a movie. I watch them all night long.”
The Manolo Blahnik Campari is a high heeled black patent Mary Jane shoe, which Carrie found when raiding the Vogue accessories closet in sequence four. The shoe, which was created in 1994 and has not been accessible in London since then, is also a favorite of Kate Moss but has been so long coveted by Manolo’s fans that it was thought it really was a fable. “I had gone through a bit of a decorative period in the early Nineties and required something to counter that, so I went minimalist,” Blahnik explains of the shoe’s creation. “It started off with the idea of a children’s Mary Jane, but then I made it sexy; keen toe, high heel – and in black patent with grosgrain trim!”
