Kevan Hall At Los Angeles Fashion Week

After reviewing the LA Fashion Week shows of Louis Verdad and Oliver Tolentino to be very much New York worthy collections I am happy to say I have one more to my list! Kevan Hall! (Now on a side note, While they are New York worthy, they are also Los Angeles mainstays and I truly hope this will not only be the case for the future but will also help raise the quality bar for the other shows that make their way down the Los Angeles runways. Los Angeles is a world renounced city and should have fashion shows up to par with that. ) The Rusnak presents Night of Luxury featuring Kevan Hall was held at the Universal Studios Backlot. And despite some very unfortunate meeting of my 6” Tara Subkoff platforms and the quarter of a mile hike to the venue from the media parking lot, I was able to ignore the unfashionable ankle complaints (with the help of some donated band-aids) and enjoy the almost 50 looks of incredible, red carpet worthy gowns, dresses and even some Madmen style shifts.
There is something so sophisticated about Kevan Hall Designs. I was first wowed with the over all Color palette. Starting with the most luscious and saturated of reds, pinks, peaches, lavenders, champagnes, metallics and iridescence. Then I was drawn in to the details, the draping, the structure, the flashes of beadwork, and the waist emphasis. If you know me, then you know my strong feelings about wearing belts and giving your waist emphasis… so this collection was right up my fashion alley! But overall there is an old Hollywood glamour to the collection invoking the feeling of hollywoods past. And like all girls would do, as each look took the runway stage, I envisioned myself in that dress, waving to my adoring fans and snapping shots for the paparazzi as I glide down a red Carpet. A girl can dream, can’t she?
Kevan Hall’s dresses are most definitely what every woman’s fashion dreams are made off. Glamour, sex appeal, sophistication, simplistic yet packs a punch. Well thank you Kevan Hall for sticking to LA and giving us, hollywood style fashion we can believe in. From your, always high heeled, Editor-in-Chic… I’ll see you on the Runways!
