Three Fall Fashion Necessities

Although temperatures in the Valley are still reaching the 80’s, it’s hard not to long for jeans, sweaters, boots, and scarves. Since fall/winter fashions are untried territory for some Valley residents, we asked Hub owners Tom Simon and Jennifer Mumford for their recommendations on the top three things that everyone needs for fall. Here are their fall necessities:
- The denim legging: The denim legging is the skinny jean revamped. With a lot more stretch, these super skinnies are über at ease and look remarkable tucked into your favorite pair of slouchy boots. Pair them with a button down, long cardigan sweater or a fitted jacket; these are the must have pants for the season. Look for dark washes with minimal details to ensure a slimming appearance, and don’t forget black; always a wardrobe staple.
- Leather: Leather is back this fall and in a big way. Look for its look in new shapes such as leather leggings and pencil skirts. An investment piece that everyone should consider owning is the leather bomber jacket. For valley residents, leather jackets are the ideal weight for our temperate winters. Paired with skinny jeans and casual tops this is an instant way to update your look.
- Plaid: A comeback from last year, plaid is not going away. To update the look for this season, mix it up with extra-large button up shirts, scarves and look for the pattern in sweaters and jackets. The important thing is to keep it to a minimum. Select one piece for emphasis and keep the rest of your outfit relatively simple.
