Fiji Fashion Week Has Started

FIJI Fashion Week held its impressive opening Friday night at Albert Park, showcasing creations and designs of well-known and budding artists in the Asia Pacific region. Fashion Week organizer Ellen Whippy said about five well-known designers took part in the Established Designers category.

“There are about 10 designers taking part in the Asia Pacific Emerging Designers category,” she said.

A designer purple dress charity luncheon was organized at the Holiday Inn, Suva on Thursday as part of fashion week’s contribution toward charity for the year. Ms Whippy said the charity event would raise about $1000 which would go to the Kidney Foundation of Fiji.

Kidney Foundation of Fiji president Dewan Maharaj said the Foundation was gratifying to the organizers of Fiji Fashion Week. “Every dollar that comes in is a big help to the patients undergoing dialysis treatment,” he said.
