Against all odds, Pakistan Fashion Week hit the ramps in Karachi on Wednesday. The four-day event has been rescheduled twice due to security concerns, but that hasn’t dampened the creative energy driving the participating designers and models. Over 30 Pakistani designers – including giants such as Sonya Battla, Rizwan Beyg, and Maheen Khan – are showcasing a variety of casual and formal outfits as well as western wear, jackets, and accessories.
Now Fashion week has started in Lahore. Extending an olive branch to Karachi-based designers to converge on a single platform, Lahore Fashion Week (it doesn’t have an official title yet) may be attracting many of Karachi’s acclaimed designers who are eager to show in Lahore this season.
